Our Company

ShimodaAtlantic™ began in 1975 as Sentinel Research, Inc., a contractor to the Industrial Products Division of Hughes Aircraft Co., of Carlsbad, California.

Our early work as a defense subcontractor quickly grew into the development of non-invasive thermal imaging systems designed to assist medical researchers, vascular surgeons, burn specialists and clinicians "image" minute temperature differences in tissue temperature.

Our business plan is designed to carry us through to our goal of public ownership. We feel it represents a solid commitment to the future, built on nearly 30-years of experience in a challenging, multidisciplinary, high-technology research and development environment.

ShimodaAtlantic™ is a 29-year old company specializing in the development of niche pharmaceuticals for neoplastic disease processes. Over the past three decades, the company has made the transition from DoD (government) contracting and subcontracting in electro-optical systems to pharmaceutical development.

Along the way we've gained experience in a wide variety of fields. Our history includes projects involving medical imaging systems for research; hyperbaric and normal atmospheric life support systems; ethnobotany; specialized remote sensing platforms; micro thermal imaging (planar microscopy); and, multispectral microscopy.

Effective July 1, 2004, we ceased offering contract assistance in thermal microscopy and presently utilize all of our capacity in that regard in our own projects.

Our current capabilities include:

  • pharmacognsy and pharmaceutical research & development
  • clinical trial management, site setup, site monitoring
  • clinical trial management software
  • private-client, retail pharmaceutical quality assurance programs
  • thermal microscopy systems for research
  • nanotherapy research with emphasis on magnetic fluid hyperthermic oncology treatment modalities
  • clinical trial candidate screening programs

The current business plan focuses on oncology drug research and development projects, with collateral projects such as diagnostic testing programs and test kits occupying the balance of our attention.

We recently consolidated our operations to several Northwest Arkansas sites. Clinical research operations have shifted to Springdale and Little Rock, Arkansas. Private-client retail pharmaceutical quality assurance operations remain in Bentonville, Arkansas.

None of our facilities are open to the general public.
